Day 79: So Close to Understanding!

I finished practicing with Mathematical induction proofs and focused on the example problem. I got so close to finishing the problem but then I got stuck. It was all making sense for five minutes and then it was all nonsense to me once again. It’s as though I am experiencing glimpses of brilliance then rapidly returning to delusion.

TLDR;

Okay, so here are the highlights of what I did:

  • Still reading through the book “Cracking the Coding Interview” by Gayle Laakmann McDowell. Still working on example nine. I worked through the steps shown in an article explaining the proof of the height of a balanced binary tree. I got to the fifth step out of six but ultimately got confused and lost my train of thought. I think I should re-write out the article’s calculations since they are shown in a paragraph and are disorienting for me to read. It’s frustrating but I think I can figure it out. I just need to takes things slow and walk through all the steps.

Conclusion

That’s all for today. If you are interested in the MIT course you can check out the video lecture I’m currently going through. The lecture is helpful but isn’t sufficient by itself. Anyways, until next time PEACE!
