It was a hope, and a prayer, but now it’s finally happened. I solved the last example Big O runtime question and actually got the answer correct. Talk about ending on a high note lol. Granted, I still need to review the explanation for the solution but the fact that my initial answer was correct boosts my confidence like you wouldn’t believe. I have gotten almost every question wrong on my first attempt. I can finally move on to the real practice problems and test what I have learned.
TLDR;
Okay, so here are the highlights of what I did:
- Still reading through the book “Cracking the Coding Interview” by Gayle Laakmann McDowell. I am moved on to example questions fifteen and sixteen. These are the last two example questions for the Big O notation section. There are still practice problems that I need to go through but this is definitely a big step in the right direction. I got the answer for example sixteen correct. I am very happy about that but I am also scared. I will be reviewing the question and solution again tomorrow to make sure that it wasn’t just a lucky guess.
Conclusion
That’s all for today. If you are interested in the MIT course you can check out the video lecture I’m currently going through. The lecture is helpful but isn’t sufficient by itself. Anyways, until next time PEACE!
